April’s bathroom project of the month

For April’s ‘project of the month’, our Managing Director; Kieran Harris chose the bathroom of close to home customer Sharron Ellis in Pudsey, Leeds. Sharon came to us unhappy with her old bathroom layout, and relatively open in terms of ideas on style, colour and finish. We sat down with Sharon and quickly learned her main objective was to swap her shower over the bath for separate shower and bath units, she understood she didn’t have the world’s biggest space, and subsequently needed our bathroom designing services to come up with a solution.

Bathroom of the month - April

We worked with Sharon to create a really contemporary, relaxing space. By blocking up a small window, we were able to accommodate the separate shower unit she was so desperate for and added a stunning solid stone freestanding bath as a key design feature. This bath not only looks great but is practical for smaller spaces due to its depth. In keeping with the contemporary feel, we suggested an open spouted, wall mounted waterfall tap above the centre of the bath with a coordinating sink tap. For the shower, we took a more practical approach, providing a double doored Kudos shower enclosure complete with chrome dual shower head.

A combination of light and dark grey tones were used throughout to create a cool, crisp and contemporary aesthetic, without the place feeling ‘cold’. We continued the grey tones throughout including wall and floor tiles, the blind and coordinating vanity wall unit and painted Zhenda towel radiator – which not only looks great but is practical (as painted radiators give out 50% more heat).

The main emphasis from the client (and always from the team at Harris Interiors) was an affordable quality finish, which we achieved using mainly British suppliers including British ceramic gloss tiles (manufactured in Devon), a Britton Aqua Cabinets solid stone bath and a Kudos shower enclosure (manufactured in the Lake District). We provided Sharon with freshly plastered walls ready to paint alongside the half wall tiles, and the ‘Relax’ stencil added above the bath helps to create a real feature wall.

We couldn’t be happier with this bathroom!
