How to create the perfect White Kitchen

White kitchens are one of the hottest trends at the moment, and the best thing about a white kitchen is it won’t ever date!

At Harris Interiors, we get so many enquiries about white kitchens that we thought we would put together this handy blog on how to create the perfect one…

Whether your style is contemporary or traditional, a white kitchen is a perfect choice for both.  It’s fresh, clean and easy to personalise using splashes of colour or black accents. If your kitchen is on the small side, a white kitchen can really help to make it feel larger and brighter!

The one thing you need to be careful with when designing a white kitchen is that it doesn’t look sterile and that you create a statement kitchen that will be ‘the heart of your home’!

Stone is an elegant and stunning choice for a kitchen. This is a luxury choice as it’s not cheap, however, it will stand the test of time! Worktops in a glossy white finish will give you a look that is totally on trend and using a trio of pendants hanging above the kitchen island will add a gorgeous, cool looking feature that will help to separate the kitchen from the dining area in an open plan space. Add in three breakfast bar stools, keeping the look perfectly symmetrical.

Consider handleless cabinetry creating an elegant but simple bold and minimalist look. Plan your kitchen units to ensure you have adequate storage where you need it, using recessed LED lighting for cupboards and shelving. Ceiling to floor units will give you maximum storage and built in appliances will help to keep surfaces clear.

An engineered oak wooden floor works perfectly in a white kitchen giving you a great contrast of colour.

You can also add colour with paint but you should choose more subtle shades for a white kitchen in a period home, or go for brighter colours for more of a contemporary look.
